On Shopping….

I am not a huge fan.

I need pretty consistent help while trying to find the right thing, all the while needing lots of quiet to think about what I am doing.

It is safe to say that I have been shopping a handful of times in the past few years, well shopping for me.

And the height of all shopping anxiety happens when I need….

SHOES!

I will avoid the shoes.

Walk through and then not try any.

This will happen a few dozen times before I commit to seriously looking.

I have no earthly idea why I am like this, and realize it is ridiculous.

I think it is because I don’t like malls.

When we lived in NYC, I loved to shop.

It was an experience, not a requirement.

Discovering fun stores, hearing the cars, watching the people and leaving the store to go into the “fresh” air and tackle it all again.

And malls can rarely create an experience.  They make me tired, or feel whooshy-headed like I have a head cold.

It smells like food, not leather.

But, I need shoes.  Flip-flops are not actually meant to be worn in all occassions it seems.  I actually need clothes to match the new shoes I got, but…. baby steps.

I was on a quest for boots, and I think I succeeded!

They are a bit country-western, but I am rather pleased.

What do you think? What would you wear with this?

I don’t know if I can commit to enough daily lunges to warrant my rear occupying skinny jeans….but how about some tights and a tunic? Or regular jeans?

Any suggestions would be marvelous.

And since I am already so proud of myself for buying shoes…. I will go ahead and admit… I got another pair shoes too!

Except mine are Olive Green.

I was trying to go a bit on the “edge” here… which I realize might be a bit too telling as to how lame I really am with fashion.

Did I do good?!?!

Yea the boots are fun and you did great! I would do tights with the boots and leggings! I live in them! Super comfy and great for mommy on the go. And yes on the tunic and even a long sleeve botton down. You can tuck those babies in some jeggings! ( leggings that look like jeans) Yea and the olive green shoe is a nod to the military style that is huge right now. Very proud of you. I will give you a A on this assignment and can’t wait to see your next purchase!

I think both are cute purchases. The boots would look great with leggings or jeans. And if you are really daring you could try them with a skirt possibly, and a nice jacket cinched at the waist.

The flats are super cute too. I have several flats and I love to wear them with jeans. Its a nice casual look.

    Good Job Brit 🙂

I wish that I could say that I was your fashionable friend, but I fail miserably in the fashion area. I need help too 😦 I like your boots and flats..I would wear them, but this isn’t saying much…
